Originally from Carlsbad, CA, they relocated to San Francisco and then to Los Angeles. They played good melodic punk with a proto-hardcore edge and stringent leftist politics with songs like 'I Hate The Rich' and 'Class War'. Chip and Tony Kinman went on to form country punk band 'Rank And File'

Their discography consists of three 7"s released between 1977 and 1980.
The first was "I Hate The Rich/You're Not Blank" in 1977 which was a raw slice of youthful punk politics. The same year the "198 Seconds of The Dils" 7" came out on the legendary Dangerhouse Records label. The title sets the record's mission statement out quite nicely. A short, sharp attack of leftist punk with 2 songs, "Class War" and "Mr. Big", being thrashed out in just over 3 minutes. The next release was 1980's "Made In Canada" 7" (so called because, surprisingly enough, it was recorded in Canada). This record took a slower, more roots rock approach which would continue on to Rank And File that always reminded me of The Clash (especially on Red Rockers).

Download here:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?idzm5mzjmdo

Japanese Spider-Man

Marvel Comics are streaming the Japanese version of Spider-Man on their website for free. I used to love footie as a childhood Man Utd fan (yeah, I know, embarrassing) but always had a soft spot for Port Vale rather than Stoke City. So this season I bought a Vale season ticket despite them being in the midst of their worst slump in 25 years.

Little did I know how bad this slump had got. Valiants have recently been organising protests including this one after an incredibly dire game against Luton Town:

A justified protest in my opinion (despite ugly scenes from a minority) since this isn't just a knee-jerk reaction to a few losses but to a downward turn which has been going on for years. I don't think the fans can take anymore and want their voices heard to a board which has made mistake after mistake, got us relegated to League 2 and suckered us in with cheap season tickets and the promise of promotion.

On top of all this misery me and Luke hopped on a bus from Manchester to Accrington Stanley (I guess we're gluttons for punishment) only for the game to be called off due to a waterlogged pitch. Another disappointing Vale game but at least we didn't lose!

To finish, here's a video from a bygone era, when Vale were amazing and players played in the pissing rain:

East Coast Hardcore

First post.
Here's a celebration of 80's American Hardcore from the Eastern states.
Enjoy - http://8tracks.com/syndicates/american-hardcore-pt-1--east-coast

Tracklist:
New Aryans - Reagan Youth
Police Brutality - Urban Waste
Blind Justice - Agnostic Front
Positive Outlook - Youth Of Today
Big Take Over - Bad Brains
Hybrid Moments - The Misfits
Mischief Night - Adrenalin O.D.
We'd Have A Riot Doing Heroin - The Queers
Split Scene - Violent Children
Seeing Red - Minor Threat
Condensed Flesh - Void
Anarchy Is Dead - Government Issue
Gonna Have To Fight - S.O.A.
I Hate Tourists - The Freeze
Snob - Gang Green
Conform - Siege
Is This My World? - Jerry's Kids
Hardcore Rules - Hated Youth
